No matter what you’re doing, where you are (figuratively and literally), or what is happening, I love to read you. I know things will work out for you. Hope you come back West.

I feel the love! I cherish you, Cintra. I understand what you’re saying about Yosemite and now know what to expect. Killer Joe and his strong sisters sound great. The next chapter is going to be great.

I got immediately sucked into your writing. Your life sounds fairly similar to mine in some ways; mainly the unintended chaos. I'm glad you're getting the support from Substack, editing and painting. I'm a freelance book editor as well. Writing saves our lives on so many levels. Keep doin what you do. Oh, and Yosemite is incredible; it IS like looking at God.

Merry Christmas~

It pleases me to no end that after being whacked by a 90-pound shithammer, you’re hanging in there, and your writing is as good as always.

“is the dead certainty that we came from this planet. It grew us, and we’re a part of its fauna. We’re not separate from anything, but a part of the ecosystem that should be its stewards. The planet certainly doesn’t belong to us, but we are part of it however egocentric our species may be, over something as intangible and unreliable as sentience.”

Yes & Yes. Happy Holidays Cintra 😈☠️🎄💙

Love you, this is a comforting but confusing post: where are you,(and why), and if Killer Joe was so great, why did you leave him to go to Brooklyn?

btw, I used to have two tabbies one named Killer and the other Joe-Bob. Doesn't that make us realted? we had to put a padlock on the bread cupboard because Joe-Bob would do anything to to eat bread.

Great picture of you.

Really needed to hear from you tonite.

Hey Karen! Yah, Joe and I hadn't been dating very long when I got that job offer, and I had just been kicked out of my apartment so I moved east for the job, which was great while it lasted, which was 3 months.

Prolix cookie fortune: Science, defiance and the arts of lyrical persuasiveness shall move the fates to smile on all future endeavors. Either that, or everything will suck (just kidding). Your lucky numbers are 14 and 27.

Ha! I just saw those guys in Atlanta a few weeks ago. Yes, the audience was gray, but I've seen them all kinds of places, from the teeny Casbah in San Diego (2016) to the Mojave stage at Coachella (2009), opening for Squeeze on tour (seems like kind of a mismatch) and in their Knitters incarnation, too. They say this is going to be their last tour, but I bet the will keep gigging around L.A.

Anyway, glad to see that you are working out the domicile situation, and Happy 2025!

So so glad you got there and had that experience and revelation. May your experience spread! We sure don’t need more people in Yosemite, but we could use a whole lot more people realizing they come from this planet and that they should take better care of it and self! You also make me annoyed I had to miss the recent X show in Tacoma.

I would love to see a few of your recent paintings. Perhaps I could find a home for one.
