In the 70’s Carla Lonzi wrote a feminist manifesto in which she cautioned us that the patriarchy would go so far as to share power in an attempt to mollify any challenge to its authority - anything to prevent examination of the source of that power. It’s been a template for sexism, racism, colonialism, and every other ism used to keep people down, subservient, and fighting their wars.
