In the future, if they offer you a breathalyzer, insist on a blood test, the delay might bring your blood alcohol down unless you have significant fresh booze in your belly.

You encapsulated my feelings about the po po perfectly. They have become useless thugs not “protecting and serving” the citizens of their community, but rather engaging in general assholerly and power tripishness.

Your MADD-Cop Experience is almost identical to the "raise your voice-go to jail" significant other abuse Scam being run in California. If a neighbor hears a raised voice in a domestic argument and calls the cops then one of the two voice-raisers will undergo the following: 1. arrest 2. Jail 3. $10,000 bail bond (or sit in slammer until court date) 4. $3,000 attorney 5. One year of anger management class at $3,500. 6. $1,500 min. "court costs" and through all of this are $60-$100,000 / year DAs, judges, public defenders, jailers, probation officers. IT IS AN industrial complex with almost nothing to do with domestic abuse. These two systems: drunk driving, domestic abuse generate the millions of dollars needed to keep a few hundred nasty gang bangers and child rapists in prison and to pay salaries of tens of thousands of "criminal justice" leeches in the state. For some fun research - look up the 20 things that can get an individual arrested for significant other abuse in California - my favorite is "threatening to withhold significant other's allowance" - cuffed, hand on head, back of patrol car, night in slammer and $10,000+ before the smoke clears oh ! and a permanent arrest record. MADD is simply one of the private sector lubricants on the gears of this colossal, undemocratic, state perpetuated, cancerous maw.

I'm a 'car guy'--uh, gal--and am curious what kind of stick-shift car you have? The lady cop screaming at you: clear case of an inferiority complex being taken out on you. I always say, "Other people's insecurity sooner or later becomes YOUR problem." I bet you're exactly right about the misogynistic motivations of the assholes who busted you. Fuck them. Surely there was a REAL CRIME with REAL VICTIMS happening elsewhere at the moment they chose to stop two divorcees looking a little too happy.
