I think this is my new most favorite piece of writing from you. It's so good, Cintra. Makes me want to watch a good doc film about flamenco featuring you, the Malditas, Sol, and El Bastardo... Fantastic painting, too. And another great ad for your editing services! DAMN, YOU'RE GOOD!

This is one of the best things I've ever read of yours. It has a vulnerability which mirrors the very process you describe. I'm a huge fan of flamenco and have been forbidden from doing it by my podiatrist.

If anyone needs a pair of handmade flamenco shoes, size eleven, unworn, please get in touch.

Got-DAMN this is good. A pullquote in every graf, though this gloss esp. grabbed me: "...attacking the space around her with a furious, capricious energy that turned on a dime from seductive to dismissive, raunchy to elegant, caressing to murderous."

This is great! I was able to learn even more about Flamenco and about Sol, who is also my flamenco teacher. She is wonderful and I’m glad to hear about your experience throughout the years and how flamenco helped you and so many other people. Thank you for sharing!

I loved this piece, Cintra. It really captured the essence of the experience you have had, and the power of this dance form (and way of approaching life, from your description). Very powerful description of the healing and transformative possibilities it offers. I learned a lot about the heart of flamenco from your great writing! Steve (Laszlo)

Wow! Thank you for reminding me of one of my favorite movies. And then going on to write one of your most powerful, exhilarating essays.

Inquiring minds want to know - Did you ever dance that spontaneous public Bulerias? I hope so.
