Oh great, now all my social feeds are trying to get me to buy UN shoes. Not your fault; you warned us about their PR sleaze -- but I was curious, so I googled them.
I think maybe met Rem (handshake met) at his brother's wedding. Jesse Koolhaas, Rem's brother, is a terrific composer, a very smart guy, and a wonderful man, is married to a close friend of mine. I helped them renovate their apartment when they bought it. Just had dinner there 2 weeks ago. No nepotistic benefits there.
But the shoes ... I see them as JD Vance of shoes: Clever yet performative, stylish but all about money, looking for their daddy to launch them into the world.
